Overnight French Toast

1 loaf hard Fench bread
6 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
     Butter
     Confectioners’ sugar

Cut the bread into 1-inch slices.  Combine the eggs, orange juice, milk, cinnamon, sugar, almond extract and vanilla in a bowl and mix well.  Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture, coating both sides.  Arrange in a single layer in a dish.  Pour any remaining egg mixture over the bread slices.  Chill, covered, for 8 to 12 hours.

Heat a small amount of butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted.  Add the bread slices.  Cook until brown on both sides, turning once.  Sprinkle with confectioners’ suger.  Serve with warm maple syrup.
